Take the Lifelong Happiness 30 Day Challenge!  

In 2006, I stumbled upon an amazing cause called, A Complaint Free World. Reverend Will Bowen created a 21 day challenge which involves wearing a purple bracelet. You select a wrist, put the bracelet on and try to go 3 weeks in a row without complaining, gossiping or criticizing. Each time you catch yourself, you must change wrists and start over. A noble challenge indeed. Sounds tough, right? It was, trust me!

That’s why I’ve updated the challenge through Lifelong Happiness.com. We’re adding some of the most important elements that go into creating a life filled with happiness. Whether this makes it easier, or more difficult to accomplish is entirely up to you. I trust you’ll share your thoughts with us once you begin.

I challenge you to begin this life changing  journey by midnight tonight:

•    Go 30 days in a row without complaining, gossiping or criticizing

•    Keep a gratitude journal to document 3 things for which you are grateful each day (preferably in our social network discussion forum, but at least in your own notebook)

•    Here’s the final twist. If you catch yourself (or someone else catches you) complaining, gossiping or criticizing, you must perform a random act of kindness within 5 minutes. Each time you find yourself complaining, gossiping or criticizing, you may immediately (within 5 minutes), perform a random act of kindness and be absolved of your mishap. Don’t worry, if you find yourself wondering what you can do that would constitute such an act, we’ll be providing plenty of examples and suggestions within the site. If you fail to act in 5 minutes or less, you must switch wrists and begin again.
